ABOUT JU-KYONG
Park Ju Kyong works mainly for many people living ordinary everyday life. Especially, it is a sightline of sympathy of people around them. As seen in the series entitled <Citizen>, the aesthetic sensation and decorative instincts that are naturally expressed as women are shaped by the movement and expression of various characters on the screen, and the work of observing and affinity unique to women rather than metaphysical logic or aesthetic intuition and a sense of being able to communicate through. In these works, which express the diverse facial expressions of the crowd directing the daily life of the city through their costumes and belongings, Park draws the body contour of the figure on the background of the monochrome and scribbles the fabric of various patterns on some characters, By expressing the figure on the canvas, it gives lively and urban glamor to the screen. In this work, the collage technique that the artist expresses using the fabric is originally designed to restore the form that Picasso and Brake of the general Cubism period have fragmented as they divide the space before, It began with the introduction of objects.
Park, Ju Kyong also brings out the urban vitality and splendor in the screen through the expression of this collage type. People who move in a space that can not be identified as a place are expressed by a carpe diem that flows into this space as anonymous urban people whose expressions are omitted and enjoy a free day. Another style of work that Park Ju-Kyong is interested in is a work in which the movement is animated by the optical effect on a still image.
The artist who has been making the work using the knife rather than the brush for a long time has been giving the optical illusion effect of the op art by applying the screen which is thinly drawn vertically to the silhouette of the figure shaped with skillful skill. A three-dimensional technique that appears to move three-dimensionally according to the viewer's view of the figures on the divided sides of the canvas, resulting in a lenticular effect.
